SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #349 - Arrow 5x17 - Kapiushon | Recap & Review - Back in Russia, Anatoli and Oliver take aim at Kovar’s plans for a political coup. They fail at first, but with some cooperation from an in-house informant, manage to kibosh Kovar’s takeover. Oliver takes Kovar down, even against the advice of Anatoli, and seems to have the Bratva problem under wraps. Anatoli is now a leader and Oliver is made a captain. Unfortunately, Kovar isn’t completely dead. In the present, Chase has Oliver in his custody and the torture is underway. He shoots him with arrows, threatens Felicity and the crew, and even puts him through a deathmatch with Evelyn in search of an ambiguous confession. Oliver finally admits that he likes killing people and Chase lets him go. Oliver returns to his anxious team and announces that he’s done with aaaaaaaall this.

They track down JRR Tolkien to aid in the search. Meanwhile, old, evil Snart finally appears in the flesh and begins to psyche Mick out, claiming the crew never really trusted him like he did. The team eventually finds the blood but, during a heated Parisian battle, loses the spear when Mick betrays the Legends for the Legion. Infighting ensues on the Waverider over what they should have done with the Spear while the new Legion of Doom does some chanting to activate the thing.

They have to sing their way through the plot of a gangster-themed musical in order to escape. While they’re indisposed, the Meister makes a run at Central City but is captured by Vibe, Martian Manhunter, and Kid Flash. After things start to take a dark turn in the musical, Mon el and Iris are forced to Vibe into the coma to love-rescue Barry and Kara. It works, the show’s various couples make up, and the Music Meister vanishes into the distance. Barry ends the episode by proposing to Iris via song.

Winn gets nearly arrested over an art heist, but Maggie buys him time to find the real culprit. He pulls a trick on Lyra, who had betrayed him, and the entire DEO comes down on the art racket, which frees Lyra and her brother. Finally, the Music Meister attacks Supergirl and escapes to Earth 1.

Sara and the Waverider manage to rescue the Apollo crew members, but Ray and Eobard have to team up to get their piece of the ship off the moon while Victor distracts Houston with a song. With everyone back on the Waverider and the Apollo crew back on course, the depleted Waverider manages to get back to Earth, but only after trusting Eobard’s fancy future space math, and the sacrifice of Commander Steel’s life. Eobard escapes to fight another day, and Vixen, after a tussle with Nate, looks up her family’s future.

He gets out with Wally intact but Jay Garrick sacrifices himself to the Speed Force to take Wally’s place. Jesse heads to Earth 3 because she doesn’t want to be a part of Savitar’s plan and that Earth needs a Flash now anyway. Wally is safe, but Barry declares him benched for now. Iris tries to put the marriage back on track with Barry but Barry thinks he needs space now that the Speed Force has reinstalled his sense of personal responsibility.

Ray, Nate and Amaya head out looking for a piece that will fix the ship. Sara and Jax head into Rip’s mind to free him and have to face evil versions of themselves and their teammates. The part is retrieved and Good Rip liberates himself, thanks the help of Gideon personified, leaving the crew intact and the ship on its way. Also, Ray gives Nate a destiny-trip about dating Amaya, since she’s the only one whose destiny seems to actually mean anything here.

SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #332 - Arrow 5x15 - Fighting Fire With Fire | Recap & Review Mayor Queen is in danger of being impeached. The city council commences a hearing on the subject and it’s not looking good, according to Adrian. After Oliver is attacked leaving the hearing, the rest of the team takes to the streets after Vigilante. That all fails, but a fight between Vigilante and Prometheus later would seem to give us a dead Vigilante and a Prometheus that’s actually Adrian Chase. Well, Vigilante makes it somehow and ends up fighting the team in another Oliver assassination attempt, but Curtis, who has T-Spheres now, pulls it together and kinda wins for once. Meanwhile, Thea descends into blackmail and eventually resigns because she doesn’t like the direction she’s heading in. Susan’s reputation is restored, giving her another chance to maybe trust Oliver, but she might be kidnapped by Adrian anyway. A very eager Curtis rushes to meet Paul only to be handed divorce papers. And Felicity officially joins the Hacktivism gang she’s been flirting with, so HELIX is probably more powerful than ever. Back in Russian, Anatoli challenges Gregor to some Russian word that basically means who does the crew really stand behind. They have one hour before the showdown and Oliver uses it to prove that Gregor has been taking Rubles from Kovar, which sways the vote in Anatoli’s favor. The whole thing still ends in a shoot-out so, you know……

The attack on Central City is on. Grodd’s army is knocking at the door, and it’s causing trouble. He has sent Gypsy over already and she attacks the team. Harry puts her down and they put her in the vault. Barry starts thinking he’s Oliver, and wondering if he should just kill Grodd once and for all, but Harry reminds him that he is an inspiration and there’s always another way. Anyway, Grodd’s first plan is to deploy nukes, being that he can use a general as an avatar, but the Flash disarms the bombs with moments left. That plan failing, Grodd descends upon the city, preparing to wreak havoc. But Vibe and a reluctant Gypsy have retrieved Solovar from Earth 2 and promised to sequester Grodd if Solovar takes him out without lethal force. Solovar succeeds and the Earth 2 Gorilla army marches back through Vibe and Gypsy portals to their home. To finish up, Vibe realizes he wants to marry Gypsy, Harry bids farewell and asks Wally to treat Jesse well on Earth 1, and Barry finally asks Iris to marry him. Also, Jesse asks Wally to pick up a Big Belly Burger, and Wally instead finds himself a big helping of Savitar.

The DEO gets a tip on a CADMUS weapon transport/super bomb and Supergirl and J’onn head out to intervene. They stop the caravan and find that the cargo is Jeremiah Danvers, who is grateful to be rescued and returned to his home and the DEO. The family is really pumped about this but Mon El questions the timing of their fortune, and alienates most of the crew. He recruits Winn and, after a lot of very offensive investigations and confrontations, eventually convinces everyone that Jeremiah is still working for CADMUS after Jeremiah tries to sabotage the DEO and beats the crap out of J’onn. Alex and Supergirl try to track Lilian, Super-Hank and Cyber-Jeremiah, but Supergirl is forced to save a train full of people, and Alex just can’t bring herself to shoot her pops so the last of the trio escapes. Later, at CADMUS HQ we see Super-Hank finishing a Super-flare-fueled bomb that might have something to do with the National Alien Registry Jeremiah managed to steal. Heartbroken, Alex has a few drinks and talks to Maggie. Also heartbroken, Kara has a quick cuddle with Mon El, which is touching, because she’s been mad at him about not listening but he’s going to now.
