Clayface Review

Listen to "Clayface Review" on Spreaker.

800 EPISODES! And what better way to celebrate a MONSTER milestone than by reviewing a MONSTER movie?

At no point in this episode do we mention that this is their 800th episode, because we forgot! 😃 But we did review DC Studios' Clayface! We got into the film's story, performances, body horror, and its place in the ever-expanding DC Universe. We also had some theories/hopes that we discussed about where the character might go next! Then we talk a whole lot about Batman: The Animated Series, "Feat of Clay"... ya know, as one does.

Does this take on a classic Batman villain deliver something truly special, or does it struggle to find its shape? Let us know what you thought at DConSCREEN@gmail.com!

Podcast artwork for DC on SCREEN episode 796 reviewing Lanterns Season 1, Episode 6, “Bad Optics,” featuring Guy Gardner in his Green Lantern uniform.

Listen to "Lanterns 1x06 - "Bad Optics" Review" on Spreaker.

We're getting into Lanterns 1x06, "Bad Optics"! It's 2026, and Hal Jordan isn't the man he used to be. In fact, no one seems to be who we thought they were. Except Guy. Guy is exactly what we expected.

Come wallow in theories and good-time conversation with your buddies Dave and Jason! We're so interested to know where this all is going, and we're not ashamed to say we can't remember every freaking bit of Lantern lore! You can listen to us google!

Lanterns 1x04 - "The Weenie" Review

Hal Jordan and John Stewart investigate a tunnel in Lanterns episode 4, “The Weenie”

Listen to "Lanterns 1x04 - "The Weenie" Review" on Spreaker.

We're jumping on "The Weenie" like Zoe jumped on the weenie! That's right, we're getting into Lanterns 1x04, "The Weenie"!

The mystery is finally starting to crack open on HBO’s Lanterns!

What the hell is Sinestro really trying to do to Hal? Why are the Guardians trying to get John to replace him? Okay, that part is obvious, but do they gotta be such jerks about it? Did we seriously just get Mandarin-ed by way of Hector Hammond? Why is William Macon exerting power completely naked? Talk about a weenie... How many vehicles is Hal Jordan going to destroy this season? And after all this hunting for the Manhunter… did we just find it?

Plus, John and Hal are finally starting to work like an actual team—oh, whoops. Nevermind.

Lanterns 1x03 - "Outkast" Review

Listen to "Lanterns 1x03 - "Outkast" Review" on Spreaker.

We're jumping into John Stewart's past as we review Lanterns 1x03, “Outkast”!

Was John Stewart programmed or raised? Did his parents train him to become a Green Lantern, or did they groom him for it? And how much damage did they do trying to make their son fearless? Also, is it a weakness that Hal Jordan is to blame for almost everything in John's life going wrong, or is it intentional on the part of the writers?

There's so much to discuss!

Aaron Pierre as John Stewart giving the side eye | Text: Review: Lanterns 1x02, "Trust Fall" | DC on SCREEN #792

Listen to "Lanterns 1x02 - "Trust Fall" Review" on Spreaker.

We're haggard and recovering from illness, but we're still talking HBO’s Lanterns!

We discuss episode 1x02, “Trust Fall”! Why is John able to keep that bird construct alive while unconscious? Is Antaan really Atrocitus, or he a, ahem, red herring? Is William Macon Green Arrow, or he working for him? Wait, where are all the patients in this hospital?

There's so much to discuss!

Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan aiming his ring | Text: DC on SCREEN #791 - Review: Lanterns 1x01 - "Pilot"

Listen to "Lanterns 1x01 - "Pilot" Review" on Spreaker.

We're back and ready to dive into the series premiere of HBO’s Lanterns!

We discuss episode 1x01, “Pilot,” from Hal and John’s uneasy partnership, the show’s grounded True Detective-inspired approach, the Green Lantern mythology changes of James Gunn’s DCU, our favorite moments, and what didn’t work for us, to that massive ending that changes everything (or did it? Theories abound, friends)!

Is Lanterns the Green Lantern adaptation we’ve been waiting for?

Sound off at dconscreen@gmail.com, and we'll talk about it next week!

SPOILER WARNING: We discuss the entire episode and speculate about where the mystery could be heading.

Did Supergirl miss the point of Woman of Tomorrow?

Man, did we want to love Supergirl. Instead, we walked away disappointed.

This episode we discuss the film's strongest positives, its biggest storytelling blunders, whether Lobo was wasted, why the emotional payoff never landed for us, and what this could all mean for the future of the DCU!

By the way, the writer of the film didn't understand what happened at the end of the book, and the director proudly explained that he didn't read the book.

We're just catchin' up with the news!

For Supergirl we have cool behind-the-scenes footage to talk about, and a description of the Cinemacon clip!

Has anyone else noticed that it's impossible to find the trailer for Lanterns on any of the official WB/DC accounts? James Gunn still has his up, though. Speaking of, that new poster and tagline sure got people upset!

We have a bit of a breakdown/reaction for the new Clayface trailer! It's not our genre typically, but it's looking pretty cool!

For Man of Tomorrow we have casting rumors, Gunn pointing out that he never confirmed Maxima was in the film, confirmation that Superman composer Dave Fleming is returning, plus some really cool backstory on the chess board Gunn posted on threads when they started shooting!

People are concocting conspiracies about The Batman Part II not happening once again! This time because it wasn't mentioned at Cinemacon! We also laugh about some Superman/Batman Photoshop nightmare napkins that got everybody upset for a minute.
