So I'm listening to your podcast and Dave's story's complaints are so off. The mom is the mcguffin to get Barry to go back in time, Zod is the mcguffin to keep going back in time to fix the death only to to find out you can't. Zod was used cuz you didn't need to explain who Zod is. It's a character study of someone coming to terms with his past.
