Jason's Pull List - Anatomy of a Metahuman: Superman (Patreon Exclusive)

Support us on Patreon to get this exclusive episode!

I get way out of my depth with some pseudoscientific explanations of Superman's powers from Anatomy of a Metahuman, written by S.D. Perry and Matthew K. Manning; illustrations by Ming Doyle and colors by Scott Holloday.  This is a gorgeous book that dissects how a number of meta heroes and villains might be built differently than us regular folk.  It's framed as Bruce's secret dossier in the event of a catastrophe.  Tons of cool, kinda-science, suprisingly-plausible explanations and, again, some beautiful anatomy-textbook style drawings of familiar characters.

Jason's Pull List - Rick and Morty #48 (Patreon Exclusive)

Support us on Patreon to get this exclusive episode!

So in a slow week for my pull list (literally one title that I've covered twice already) I'm going off topic and hitting up some Rick and Morty.  Yes, yes, we'll be back to DC in a few days (The Batman Who Laughs #4, I believe), but until then why not divert ourselves with some good laughs and a great on-page representation of the Rick and Morty universe?  Can't think of a reason?  Well, I couldn't either, so that's how we got here.  I apologize in advance for my half-assed Rick and Morty readings.  God help us all.

On episode #534 of DC on SCREEN, we mentioned briefly mentioned the idea of Batman vs. Ghostbusters... except it wasn't THAT brief. Here's the full Ghostbusters conversation, from Batman vs. Ghostbusters (the 'busters being Batman's Robins, how Peter might react to Jarro), questions of taste regarding Harold Ramis-related humor in Ghostbusters 3, the greatness of Ernie Hudson (including trivia about the animated series The Real Ghostbusters), and even a re-telling of a classic Ernie Hudson-related bit on How I Met Your Mother. Yep, we went for it.

This episodes we dig into what Tom King has been up to in the Heroes in Crisis storyline.  No spoilers for any other books, except maybe Rebirth #1.  This is what happens when you let an ex-CIA counter-terrorism agent write about PTSD in the DC Universe.  It's insightful, to say the least.  Welcome to Sanctuary.  Help me ponder what the damn hell they have planned for 2 issues that will wrap this all up.
